Stimulating journey and experience of planning the “Monsoon Beach run”!
Our motive behind doing this event on beach was to provide runners a different kind of environment where they could enjoy themselves and the run moreover making people aware about the importance of fitness. There were few learning outcome which we fulfilled through the activity. Undertake new challenges, engaging in organizing the event itself is the new challenge for me as I was doing such thing first time. During this challenge I learnt many things like communication skills, time management, persuasive skills, getting ideas to solve problems etc and the skills which I had learn during this activity will surely be helpful to me in some or the other way in my life. Worked collaboratively with others, as it was a group work it was necessary to work collaboratively and we did it by co-operating, listening each one’s point of view, be fair to everyone, update everyone, dividing responsibilities, etc. Kushal Shah Trepidation for Adventure Activities! Fear of heights! That is the way I would explain myself. Since childhood I have a phobia for heights. I do not like sitting on rides that are at beyond a certain height. And I sure as well do not like to do adventure activities that are on height. This time during my trip to Raigad I got a chance to face my biggest fear! Heights! At first when i went to the venue and saw the set up; the first thing that came to my mind is “I will not do the activity because if I fall, I will hurt myself”. I sat there near the venue seeing everybody doing the activity. It encouraged me as well as scared me. Then i decided after some time that eventually i will have to face my fear. So I got up and told the volunteer that i will do it. When i climbed up the ladder and looked down it was like my heart skipped a beat. The activity I was doing was named “monkey tail”. I had to walk on a rope holding another rope above up. And the rope was moving. I was so frightened that I thought of giving up. But then my friends and volunteers there motivated me a lot and I completed ¾ of the activity. It was a sense of achievement for me. And the next activity which was rock climbing; I was very excited about doing it. I wouldn’t accept it before but I actually had a lot of fun doing those adventure activities Anoushka Jariwala Trip to Raigadh, Maharashtra “You give but little when you give of your possessions.
